Published at Last: The Doctor of Bums on Pocket FM

I’m excited to share that my newest story, The Doctor of Bums, is now officially published on Pocket FM.

This story follows Dr. James Dowdy, a gifted surgeon whose life collapses after one tragic mistake. Overwhelmed by guilt, he sinks into depression, loses his career, and eventually becomes homeless. What begins as a fall from grace becomes a journey of redemption — one shaped by unexpected kindness.

A young man named Billy offers him a meal and discovers the truth: this broken man is a doctor. With Billy’s encouragement, and the help of Tasha — the nurse who was with him the day everything went wrong — Dr. Dowdy slowly rebuilds his life. Together they open a small clinic for the homeless, giving care to people who have nowhere else to go.

Tasha helps him dry out, reclaim his purpose, and even reunite with the son he hasn’t seen in seven years. What starts as a story of loss becomes one of healing, forgiveness, and second chances.

Seeing The Doctor of Bums come to life on Pocket FM feels like watching a wounded character finally stand up again — and I’m grateful to share his journey with listeners.
